Our parent company Udey Group has been in existence for over a generation in the field of importation, servicing and manufacturing of process instruments and accessories.  In 1973, they diversified into the field of Thermocouple Extension Wires, Compensating Cables, Low Noise Instrumentation Signal Cables, Control Cables, Coaxial Cables and Metallic & Plastic Pneumatic Instrumentation Tube Bundles, as pioneers in the field of import substitution.

With the successful striking of oil at Bombay High and the coming of the Green Revolution we realized that Five Year Plan spending on Oil Refineries, Petrochemicals, Cement Plant, Gas Fertilizer Units, Thermal Power Stations, Electricity Boards, Paper Mills, Shipping Vessels, Aircrafts, Locomotives, Railways, Automobiles, etc. was bound to be stepped up and the demand for our products would increase tremendously. Subsequently, we acquired large premises at Lonavla, midway between Mumbai and Pune (having compound area 10.5 Acres, built up area 30,000 sq ft) and expanded our manufacturing facilities. We also added Silicon Rubber Insulated Cables, Flame Retardant Low Smoke (FRLS) Cables and Telephone Cables to our product range.  The new premise has been functional since middle of 1978, incorporated as M/S UDEY PYROCABLES PVT LTD, which was registered with the Directorate General of Technical Development, Government of India. Later on the unit was expanded with the latest machineries and test equipments covering a variety of products in cable field, which gave us confidence to make a remarkable progress in the recent years.

As you have gathered from the above, the primary objective of our company is to manufacture specialised cables rather than ordinary house-hold wires thereby catering to highly sophisticated and technical market.

We have exported our products to the Middle East amidst strong western competition. Egyptian, Qatar and Iranian Oil Organisations buy our instrumentation products regularly.  Many European and Asian Countries buy our products regularly through our agents there. As a matter of fact, we have won an Engineering Export Promotion Council Award for outstanding Export performance in 1976.  We have, in the case of compensating cable alone, exported over 500,000 pair metres.

We have had the privilege of executing the order received from Railway Board, New Delhi for Railway Screened Signaling Cables valued Rs.3.09 crores in 1981. After successfully completion of which various Zonal Railways have continued to place their requirements with us.

During the year 1983, we exported Low Noise Instrument Screened Cables valued @ Rs.16 lakhs by competing in International competitive bidding to Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, South Korea.  These cables were required for use in the construction of Off-Shore Water Injection Platform ordered by ONGC – Bombay High in collaboration with Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, South Korea. In 1983, we also have the record of supplying Thermocouple Extension Wires / Screened Instrumentation Cables measuring 1807 core kilometers to the Thal Ammonia Projects of Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd - one of the biggest plants of its kind in the world, to their required specifications. The supplies against the above order were made under international competitive bidding.

During the year 1987, we had exported low noise instrument screened cables valued Rs. 35 lakhs by competing an international competitive bidding to KTI, USA.  These cables were required for use in the construction of ONGC Hazira Project at Surat. During the same year we had supplied cables over 125 Kms of Signal Cables to NFL, Guna.

During the year 1996, we supplied over 205 Kms of Instrumentation and Thermocouple cables for Birla Copper project at Dahej directly and through Nicco Corporation. In the same year, we developed Profibus cables for Siemens and supplied over 200 Kms for their various projects (including export).

During the year 1999, we supplied over 250 Kms of FRLS Signal, Control and Thermocouple Cables to Kondapalli Thermal Power Plant. We also supplied Fire Survival cables to MSEB for Khaparkheda TPS worth 45 Lakhs with Low Smoke Zero Halogen Compound.

During the year 2001, we supplied over 150 Kms of FRLS Instrumentation Signal, Thermocouple Cables and 350 Kms of Control Cables to Tata Steel.

During the year 2002, we supplied over 6 Crore worth of Signal, Fire Survival Cables thru’ Development Consultant (Project EPC ANSALDO) and 1.2 Crore worth of Thermocouple Cables.

During the year 2004, we developed special Radiation Resistant cable for BARC.

During the year 2006, We supplied over 400 Kms of Thermocouple, Signal Cables and Control cables to Reliance , Jamnagar Refinery directly and thru’ Black & Veatch.

During the year 2008, we supplied 45 Kms of Field bus Cable, and Signal Cables worth 80 Lakhs to BORL Refinery. In the same year, we supplied FRLS Signal, Thermocouple cables worth 5.8 Crores to IOCL.

To add to our list of accomplishments, we have supplied 45,000 meters of Thermocouple Extension Cables to one of the most prestigious projects – UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd, Lucknow and more than 1000 KMs of compensating cables to our esteemed client M/s Instrumentation Limited, Kota, for various Steel and Power Projects.

Ever since the inception of the company, we have associated ourselves with all major projects taken up by Petrochemical Industries, Fertiliser Units, Indian Oil Corporation, Power & Off-Shore Sectors of Industry, Nuclear and Thermal Power Stations, State Electricity Boards, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, etc.

During the last five years, after the tragedy of Bhopal Gas, safety measures and precautions have been incorporated by all the major Gas, Fertilizers, Refineries, Petrochemicals, Thermal Power Stations, Cement Industries, BHEL, NTPC, etc. Consequently, we have developed, Plenum Cables for Thermocouple Extension, Compensating and Instrumentation in FEP, ETFE, PFA Extruded Cables for high temperature, Fire Resistant Cables & Non-Fire Propagating Cables.
