For over a decade UDEYPYRO has been concentrating on production of custom engineered cables and catering to the requirement of a relatively limited number of customers. The special engineering and manufacturing skills which UDEYPYRO engineers acquired over the years and the production facilities it possessed have hitherto been utilised toward small custom-built orders.
Due to the high performance and dependability of UDEYPYRO products and especially with the success achieved in cables for therocouples and pneumatic instrument lines, we now have a major share in the expanded volume of business and therby cover a much wider market.
Production facilities at UDEYPYRO have the twin advantage of manufacturing versatility and flexibility of a small plant with the product diversity of a large plant. Machines, processing methods established and testing procedures evolved are meant to maximise capacity utilisation without sactificing versatility and flexibility. As a coroallary, our engineering capabilities in custom design and prototype development are backed by prompt execution of orders in different sizes.
MATERIALS :
"UDEYPYRO" pay particular attention to Materials Management both as regards quality as well as quantity, being well aware of the highly significant role it plays in any industry. UDEYPYRO stock a wide range of components/raw materials, from bare wires to thermoplastic. Thermosetting & elastomere extrusion compounds which gives a wide choice for special cable designs and faciliates, close quality control, closely approching zero.
EXTRUSION
UDEYPYRO have a wide range of sizes/types of extruders designed to extrude thermoplastic/thermosetting/elastomere compounds (i.e. plastic, rubber, artificial rubber, nylon, XLPE etc.) for insulation, sheathing or sleeving. UDEYPYRO group handle the widest spectrum of insulating/jacketing materials in the country.
LAYING UP & ARMOURING
UDEYPYRO have versatile cabling and laying-up machines capable of multilayer variable pitch lays with alternate clockwise and interlockwise directions for core assembly and armouring. This set-up includes a taping head in tandem which tightly tapes up the assembly with mylar tape ready for the extrusion of the next sheath. Udey have various versatile armouring machines capable of armouring by wire, strip, square interlock and double steel tape.
SHIELDING / BRAIDING
UDEYPYRO have pioneered foil shielding and have the equipment for both spiral taping of Aluminium/Mylar or Copper foil shielding tape or longitudinally fold-locked UDEYPYROFOIL Aluminium/Mylar or Copper foil shield. UDEYPYRO also have many versatile sizes/types of braiding machines to handle textile, asbestos, copper, ATC. stainless steel, GI Wire Nylon, Fibreglass and other yarns for braiding cables for screening, armouring, weather proofing fire proofing and for making return conductors for Coaxial Cables.
R & D
UDEYPYRO are vitally interested in import substitution and in pioneer ventures into new fields of cable manufacture. They also constantly try to improve their process and methods. With these objects in view a continuous design, development and application activity goes on, which has produced an impressive record over the years. UDEYPYRO have a reference library of wide range covering every aspect of cable design, manufacture and testing. A few innovations which have been developed by UDEYPYRO are :-
To support the R & D work, UDEYPYRO maintain a number of well designed and equipped test facilities and laboratories which enable designs and conceptions to be worked out and tested. Certified sub-standard instruments are maintained for periodic, logged, cablration of instruments in day-to-day use, to ensure constant accuracy. These labs & testing facilities ensure that all UDEYPYRO products are absolutely upto the mark and to the relevant ISI international specifications when they leave UDEYPYRO premises.
Facilities include equipment fortesting, tensile strength, flexing, abrasion resistance, ageing, etc. and similar mechanical properties and electrical properties such as High Voltage, Insulation resistance capacitance inductance, attenuation, capoietance un-balance, etc. as well as cablration equipment for thermo-emf-curves, noise-level ratios etc.
At UDEYPYRO Quality Control is a serious matter meriting close, systamatic attention. Accordingly in process, interstage and finished product inspection and testing is carried out with standard equipment such as in line Spark testers. Samples are frequently drawn for dimensional and concentricity checks and the working of extruder temperatures monitored and logged. Each shift has a Senior Engineer and adequate staff for this purpose whose sole arm is to eliminate scrap and produce zero defect products.
